The bronze gaze: standing in front of Sanxingdui

Three thousand years ago someone cast a mask with eyes that jut forward and ears wide as wings. Standing two metres away, you understand why Ancient Shu refuses to be fully explained.

Sanxingdui is not a quiet museum. It is an argument with history: a bronze civilization that left no written record, buried its own treasures, and vanished from the texts entirely.

The masks are the famous part, but the bronze trees stay with you longer — cast in sections, assembled like a ritual, taller than a person and four thousand years old.

Our private tour pairs the museum with a local lunch and time to ask questions that a crowd never allows. The Ancient Shu world is strange; it deserves more than an audio guide.
